Step 1

Download the Launcher

Click the button below to download the XenoSO launcher for Windows:

💾 Download XSOLauncherWindowsV1.zip

The file will download to your default Downloads folder (usually C:\Users\YourName\Downloads).

Step 2

Create Your Installation Folder

Before extracting, create a dedicated folder for XenoSO. This can be:

On your Desktop (example: C:\Users\YourName\Desktop\XSO)
In your Documents folder
On any drive with sufficient space (at least 2GB free)

⚠️ Critical: Do NOT use these locations:

OneDrive or any cloud-synced folder
Program Files or Program Files (x86)
System directories (C:\Windows, etc.)

These locations cause file permission errors and will prevent the game from running.

💡 Recommended: Create a folder named "XSO" directly on your Desktop or in C:\Games\XSO for easy access.

Step 3

Move the ZIP File

Open your Downloads folder and locate XSOLauncherWindowsV1.zip.

Drag (or cut and paste) this ZIP file into the installation folder you created in Step 2.

Step 4

Extract the ZIP File

Right-click on XSOLauncherWindowsV1.zip and choose one of the following:

Option 1 (Recommended): Select "Extract Here" - this extracts all files directly into your current folder
Option 2: Select "Extract All..." then click "Browse" to confirm your installation folder, then click "Extract"

Note: If you don't see "Extract Here" or "Extract All", you may need to install 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract ZIP files.

Step 5

Navigate to the Launcher Folder

After extraction, you will see a new folder structure:

XSOLauncher\Windows\

Open this folder path: XSOLauncher → Windows

Inside the Windows folder, you'll find the launcher executable and its required files.

Step 6

Locate the Launcher Executable

Find the file named XenoSOLauncher.Desktop.exe

💡 Can't see .exe? Windows may hide file extensions by default. You'll see a file named "XenoSOLauncher.Desktop" with an application icon. This is the correct file.

💡 Pro Tip: For easier access in the future:

Right-click the file → "Create shortcut" → Drag the shortcut to your Desktop
Or right-click → "Pin to taskbar"

Step 7

Launch the Application

Double-click XenoSOLauncher.Desktop.exe to open the launcher.

⚠️ Windows Security Warning: Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" message because this is a new application. This is normal. Click "More info" then click "Run anyway" to continue.

The XenoSO launcher window will open.

Step 8

Install the Game

In the launcher window, follow these steps in order:

Click the "INSTALLER" button at the top of the launcher
Click "Download & Install Full Game"
Wait for the download and installation to complete (this may take 10-20 minutes depending on your internet speed)
A progress bar will show the installation status

Note: The game files are approximately 1.5GB. Make sure you have a stable internet connection and don't close the launcher while it's downloading.

Step 9

Launch XenoSO!

🎮 Installation Complete!

Click the "PLAY" button in the launcher to start playing XenoSO!

First Time Playing?

You'll need to create an account at xenoso.space if you haven't already
Use your XenoSO account credentials (not EA/Origin) to log in
