💰 Group Money Objects

One of the most popular ways to make money in the game is through the use of group money objects. These special kinds of objects allow you, and up to 3 other players in some cases, to earn simoleons while cracking a code, making a pizza or playing in a band.

What is unique about each of these objects is that they all require a high level of teamwork amongst all players. Without it, some objects will prove to be quite difficult. These guides will walk you through each of these group money objects step by step.

🎮 Positions & Playing

Clicking on a free pizza machine will bring up a pie menu giving you the option to choose which position you would like to play (Body, Charisma, Cooking #1, or Cooking #2). You should choose the position which you are most qualified to perform. As an example, if you have the highest Charisma skill from among your group of players, you should be playing the Charisma position.

💡 Note: Keep in mind you do not need to have any of these skills in order to use the pizza machine, but having them will greatly increase the amount of money your team makes.

Once you get into position, the pizza panel will appear at the bottom of your screen. On this panel you will see three trays of ingredients. These come in three sizes (small, medium, and large) and six varieties (dough, sauce, cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, and anchovies). Before the round begins, these trays will be greyed out, and you will be unable to click them. Next to the trays of ingredients is a list of Sims that are currently playing.

Your team's goal is to create a pizza that is made up of at least one dough, one sauce, and one cheese of the same size. If your team can create a pizza with any topping (pepperoni, mushrooms, or anchovies) of the same size as the three basic pizza ingredients, you will receive an additional bonus.

📖 Round Walkthrough

Pizza can be played in several ways, but the most efficient and most common method involves the selection of one player as the "leader" of the team. The other players tell the leader their ingredients, and the leader then decides which player should contribute which ingredient in order to create a pizza. The leader may also opt to have players "burn" particular ingredients if no combination of ingredients will produce a pizza.

We are now going to walk through a complete round of Pizza. You will follow along as though you are the leader of the team. If you aren't leading your team, your duties will only be to list your ingredients for your team leader and contribute whichever ingredient he or she tells you to contribute.

Begin by having your teammates list the ingredients they have in their trays. If you are playing in open chat, you may also wish to list your own ingredients. The best way to do this by using two-letter abbreviations for each ingredient. For example, a small dough would be abbreviated "sd", a medium sauce would be "ms", and so on.

💡 Pro Tips for Abbreviations:

  • It is often useful to list large ingredients in capital letters so that they are easy to identify. For example, a large cheese would be abbreviated "LC".
  • It is easiest to list all toppings with the letter "T", rather than abbreviating pepperoni, mushrooms, and anchovies differently. Thus, a large pepperoni, large mushrooms, and large anchovies would all be abbreviated "LT".

If at least three members of your group have the ingredients necessary to make a successful pizza, you may tell them to contribute their respective necessary ingredients, and you may contribute anything you need to as well. However, if no combination of ingredients will produce a successful pizza, you must logically decide which ingredients you and your teammates should "burn" this round.

🔥 Burning Strategy

First, you want to burn duplicate ingredients, both in a single player's tray and between different players. For example, if one player has multiple small doughs, he or she should burn one of them so that he or she might get something different during the following round. If two different players each have a small dough, you may want to have one of them burn his or her small dough, always bearing in mind which ingredients your team already has toward a successful pizza. You don't want a single player to have all the ingredients for a pizza; they must be distributed among the players so that each person can contribute his or her one ingredient toward the final product.

After burning duplicates, it is important to pay attention to ingredient sizes and the presence of toppings. As a rule, it is a good idea to burn toppings before burning necessary pizza items, and to burn small ingredients before burning mediums and larges. Because toppings are only a bonus and not a requirement, they can be burned without a noticeable loss to payout. Smaller ingredients should be burned before larger ones because larger ones produce a greater payout, and removing a smaller ingredient can make room for a potentially larger one during the next round.

⚠️ Remember: These are only handy guidelines to go by when deciding what you and your teammates should burn. Ultimately, your goal is to create a successful pizza, and you should have your team burn or contribute whichever ingredients you best see fit to meet that goal, even if your method does not strictly follow these guidelines.

When you and your teammates finally contribute the ingredients required for a successful pizza, you will each receive a payout. If you and your teammates create a "supreme" pizza composed of the basic ingredients and any topping of the same size, you will receive a larger payout.

Payout from Pizza differs depending on the total of skill in the group.

Once you get into position the Code panel will appear at the bottom of your screen. On this panel you will see three buttons labeled "A", "B", and "C". These buttons will be used to enter one letter in the sequence. Next to these buttons is a list of Sims that are currently playing. Each player has a position that corresponds to a letter in the sequence that is trying to be discovered.

Code - Sim Positions
Code - Sim Positions

Pictured above are the Sim positions in relation to their letter in the sequence. If you are playing code using a caller (one person who leads the team by calling out the next sequence of letters to be entered) they will shout out a sequence as such: CAB. Sim #1 will click the first letter in the sequence (C), Sim #2 will click the second letter in the sequence (A), and finally Sim #3 will click the last letter in the sequence (B).

After you select your letter it will appear next to your Sim thumbnail. Once all letters have been entered the Code machine will process them and display the results. If you guess the sequence incorrectly, the letters will shift over to a "Last Guess" column and turn to grey. You will also see the number of letters that were in the correct position. It is up to your team to figure out what the correct position for each letter is. If you guess the sequence correctly the payout window will display and the sequence will be reset.

📖 Round Walkthrough

We are now going to walk through a complete round of Code. You will follow along as though you are playing as Sim #2. Each step will show the guesses made, the number of correct guesses, and finally the correct sequence.

Code Step 1

Step 1: Start the round out by guessing AAA. This will help determine how many A's are in the sequence. Everyone has entered A. We now know there is 1 A in the sequence.

Code Step 2

Step 2: Now enter ABB to determine the number of B's. One letter is in the correct position. Let's move the A to see if the number of B's is correct.

Code Step 3

Step 3: Enter BAB. We have determined there is only 1 B in the sequence.

Code Step 4

Step 4: Enter CAB. CAB is the correct sequence. You will now earn your payout.

As the round starts, a tune will play on the on-screen keyboard. Players must successfully play back the tune they have just heard by hitting their assigned notes at the appropriate time. The order which the notes are played is important, so players must be sure to wait their turn before playing the notes.

Every tune starts with one note and increases by an additional note each round. At the end of each successful round the money earned is added to the running total. The player must then decide if they want to "cash out" and end the round, or continue to the next tune and add another note. The money earned each round increases with the length of the tune, up to a maximum of 25 notes.

⚠️ Failure Conditions:

  • If at any time a player fails to hit their correct note at the proper time, the round will end and any money that has been accumulated is lost.
  • Another possible way to fail a round is if the buzz note plays. While rare, if the buzz note plays in your sequence you are forced to hit it and lose your earnings.
  • Players are given 20 seconds to complete the tune after it has been played. If the tune is not completed within that time, the round will end just like it does when an error is made and any money accumulated is lost.
Band Panel
Band Panel

💡 Pro Tip: If one of your team members is calling out the tune during the round, keep in mind there are two Doh notes on the keyboard. It is recommended that the colors of the tones are called out instead to help your team keep track of the sequence as it gets longer.

The payout of each round is calculated by the sum of the notes in it multiplied by a tuning factor. The tuning factor is a constant multiplied by the combined relevant skill of the team members.

📖 Round Walkthrough

In this walkthrough, we will be playing the Charisma position. As the Charisma player you will see your two notes lit up and all the other players notes will be grayed out. Those are the only two notes you will push. If your two notes do not come up in the tune, you will not push anything.

Band Step 1

Before the tune begins, all the colors will re-appear.

Band Step 2

The tune begins when you see one note light up and the tone will sound. Our first note is Ti (Blue).

Band Step 3

Creativity 2 player will push Ti (Blue). As the Charisma player, you will not push anything.

Band Step 4

The next tune will begin and play Ti (Blue) again and a new note in the tune will play. The new note is Fa (Lime).

Band Step 5

Creativity 2 player will push Ti (Blue), then Body player will push Fa (Lime). As the Charisma player, you will not push anything.

Band Step 6

The next tune will begin and play Ti (Blue), Fa (Lime) again and a new note in the tune will play. The new note is Re (Orange).

Band Step 7

Creativity 2 player will push Ti (Blue), Body player will push Fa (Lime). As the Charisma player, you will push Re (Orange).

Band Step 8

The process continues with one more note being added each time, until you or one of your team members plays an incorrect note during the tune, the buzz note is played, or your team decides to cash out.

💼 Owner Kickbacks & Overwork Penalty

Owner Kickbacks: Owners of the money object will earn a certain percentage of the winnings generated by those using the machine after each round is played. When the owner is playing on the object, he or she will earn the winnings from that round, plus the kickback.

⚠️ Overwork Penalty: The overwork penalty has been added to the game to prevent players that use automated programs called bots from earning money without physically playing the game. What the overwork penalty does is it identifies the payout patterns that a bot would have to generate in order to be worth running, and then reduce the income from those payout patterns. Players who complete rounds at a fast rate may see a penalty, while players who complete rounds at a more normal pace will not.
