🕯️ Candle Crafting

Overview

Candle crafting in XenoSO is an advanced crafting system that enables players to create decorative candle items using the Candle Crafting Table. The system incorporates multiple skill requirements, mood-based success modifiers, and time-of-day mechanics to determine crafting outcomes. Successfully crafted candles are randomly selected from six possible varieties, each with distinct rarity probabilities.

The crafting process requires significant investment in both materials and skill development, with success rates varying substantially based on skill levels and environmental conditions.

Candle Crafting Table

The Candle Crafting Table is the specialized equipment required for candle production. This crafting station must be purchased before any candle crafting attempts can be made.

Candle Crafting Table

Purchase Information

  • Available From: Buy Mode > Skill and Job Objects category
  • Price: $25,000
  • Capacity: Can produce 6 different candle types

Crafting Requirements

Material Cost

Each candle crafting attempt requires the following resources:

Resource Quantity Source
Beeswax 10 units Beehive Station
Simoleons $4,500 Per crafting attempt

Mood Optimization

Mood meters significantly influence crafting success probability. For optimal results, all needs should be maintained at maximum levels (white overfilled status). Whilst the rate of success does not increase the higher the mood, there is a check for how high the mood is and whether the craft succeeds or fails entirely.

Skill Requirements

Minimum Skill Threshold

Critical: The following minimum skill levels are mandatory for any crafting attempt. Failure to meet these requirements results in automatic crafting failure:

  • Creativity: Level 10 minimum
  • Cooking: Level 10 minimum
  • Logic: Level 10 minimum

Enhanced Skill Threshold

Achieving higher skill levels substantially increases success probability. The enhanced threshold provides significant bonuses:

  • Creativity: Level 16
  • Cooking: Level 16
  • Logic: Level 16

Note: Skill levels above 16 provide no additional benefit. The system only evaluates minimum (10) and enhanced (16) thresholds.

Success Rate Modifiers

After passing the minimum skill requirement check, the crafting success probability is determined by a combination of skill threshold achievement and time-of-day conditions.

Optimal Crafting Window

Time of day significantly affects success rates. The optimal crafting period is between 8:00 PM and 1:00 AM (in-game time).

Success Probability Table

Skill Level Time Condition Success Rate
Minimum (10-15) Optimal Window (8 PM - 1 AM) 20%
Minimum (10-15) Outside Optimal Window 15%
Enhanced (16+) Optimal Window (8 PM - 1 AM) 50%
Enhanced (16+) Outside Optimal Window 35%

These success rates represent the probability of successfully completing the craft. Upon success, the candle type is randomly determined according to the rarity distribution detailed below.

Candle Type Probabilities

When a candle is successfully crafted, the specific candle type is determined through a random number generation system (0-6200 range, with reroll on 5901-6200). Each candle type has a fixed probability of occurrence:

Item Name Roll Range Probability
Black Candle Black Candle 0 - 1500 25.44%
Gold Candle Gold Candle 1501 - 2500 16.95%
Green Candle Green Candle 2501 - 3500 16.95%
Skull Candle Skull Candle 3501 - 4500 16.95%
Candle Border Candle Border 4501 - 5500 16.95%
Candle Cluster Candle Cluster 5501 - 5900 6.78%

Rarity Analysis: The Black Candle represents the most common outcome at approximately 25.44%, while the Border Candle is the rarest at 6.78%. The four mid-tier candles (Gold, Green, Skull, and Cluster) share equal probability at 16.95% each.

Crafting Strategy

  • Skill Development: Prioritize training all three required skills (Creativity, Cooking, Logic) to level 16 for maximum success rates
  • Time Management: Schedule crafting sessions during the optimal 8 PM - 1 AM window for significantly improved success probability
  • Mood Maintenance: Ensure all needs are maximally satisfied (white overfilled) before attempting crafts
  • Resource Planning: Maintain adequate supplies of Beeswax and Simoleons, as each attempt consumes 10 Beeswax and $4,500
  • Cost Analysis: At enhanced skill levels during optimal hours, the effective cost per successful candle is $9,000 (50% success rate)
  • Rarity Targeting: The random candle distribution cannot be manipulated; all successful crafts follow the fixed probability table
