✨ Spells
Overview
Spells are powerful magical abilities that can be brewed and cast using the Spell Bound Wand Charger. These mystical incantations require specific ingredients, skill levels, and Wand Charge to perform successfully. The Spell Bound Wand Charger can be acquired via Buy Mode under Appliances for $7,500.
Players can brew spells using two methods: Brew Single creates one spell with standard ingredient requirements, while Brew Multiple creates five identical spells by multiplying all ingredients by 5. Each spell consumes Wand Charge when cast, regardless of success or failure, making skill development essential for cost efficiency.
Important: All spells require a minimum skill level to cast successfully. Success rates improve as your skill level increases, with 100% success achieved at 20 skill points. Wand Charge is consumed even on failed casts, so always ensure adequate skill training before attempting expensive spells.
Available Spells
The Spell Bound Wand Charger allows players to brew four distinct spell types, each requiring specific ingredients and skill levels. Below is a complete reference of all available spell recipes. Note: Brew Multiple option uses 5x the listed ingredients to create 5 spells.

Success Rates & Skill Requirements
Each spell is tied to a specific skill category that determines the likelihood of successful casting. As your sim develops proficiency in the required skill, the success rate improves proportionally. Higher skill levels not only increase success chances but also prevent wasted Wand Charge from failed attempts.
Universal Success Rate Formula
All spells in XenoSO follow the same success rate progression based on skill level:
- 0-5 Skill: 70% success rate (30% failure chance)
- 6-10 Skill: 80% success rate (20% failure chance)
- 11-15 Skill: 90% success rate (10% failure chance)
- 16-19 Skill: 95% success rate (5% failure chance)
- 20 Skill: 100% success rate (0% failure chance)
Enchant Gnome
The Enchant Gnome spell brings a crafted wooden gnome to life, transforming it into an autonomous garden helper. This spell requires Mechanical skill and costs 25 Wand Charge per cast attempt.
Crafting Requirements
Before you can enchant a gnome, you must first craft the wooden gnome itself:
- Crafting Object: Wooden Gnome Table (available in the catalog)
- Skill Required: Mechanical skill to craft the gnome base
- Once crafted, the wooden gnome can be enchanted using the spell
Functionality
The enchanted gnome provides the following gardening services:
- Automatically waters all plants on the lot
- Waters vine plots and garden plots
- Removes weeds from garden plots specifically
- Works continuously without requiring payment or maintenance
Important: This spell is single-use. If you disenchant the gnome, it will disappear completely and you must craft a new wooden gnome from scratch to enchant again. Plan carefully before disenchanting!
Enchant Flamingo
The Enchant Flamingo spell animates an Enchanted Flamingo object into an interactive NPC companion. This spell requires Charisma skill and costs 25 Wand Charge per cast attempt.
Obtaining the Flamingo Object
The Enchanted Flamingo object cannot be purchased directly and must be obtained through gameplay:
- Primary Method: Use the Transmutation spell on a gargoyle
- Drop Rate: 50% chance from Transmutation (most common outcome)
- See the Transmutation section below for detailed probability information
NPC Interactions
Once enchanted, the Flamingo NPC becomes an active participant in lot activities:
- Performs various social interactions with sims on the lot
- Social actions include: cheering, hugging, hustling, back cracking, and dancing the tango
- Players can watch the flamingo dance for Fun need satisfaction
- Provides entertainment value and social opportunities for your household
Transmutation
The Transmutation spell transforms a gargoyle into another random object from a pool of six possible outcomes. This spell requires Logic skill and costs 25 Wand Charge per cast attempt.
Gargoyle Crafting
Before transmutation can occur, you must first craft a gargoyle:
- Crafting Object: Gargoyle Work Bench (available in the catalog)
- Skill Required: Various crafting skills to create the gargoyle base
- Gargoyles serve as the material component consumed during transmutation
Transmutation Outcomes & Probabilities
When successfully cast, the Transmutation spell randomly selects one outcome from the following probability table:
| Image | Item | Roll Range | Count | Probability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() |
Enchanted Flamingo | 0 - 5000 | 5,001 | 50.00% |
![]() |
DIY Front Lawn Flamingo Vulture | 5001 - 8000 | 3,000 | 29.99% |
![]() |
Potted Flowers | 8001 - 9500 | 1,500 | 14.99% |
![]() |
Magic Growth - Root | 9501 - 9750 | 250 | 2.50% |
![]() |
Exotic Flower | 9751 - 9990 | 240 | 2.40% |
![]() |
Toilet - Gold | 9991 - 10000 | 10 | 0.10% |
Rarity Analysis: The two flamingo variants dominate the transmutation outcomes at 80% combined probability, with an even 50/30 split between them. The Enchanted Flamingo represents half of all successful transmutations, making it the most reliable way to obtain this object for enchantment. The Golden Toilet represents the ultimate rare drop at only 0.1% (1 in 1,000 chance). The Magic Growth - Root and Exotic Flower each appear approximately once per 40 successful transmutations, representing mid-tier rarity items.
Infuse Magic Enhancement
Two transmutation outcomes can be further enhanced using the Infuse Magic interaction:
- Eligible Items: Magic Growth - Root and Exotic Flower
- Enhancement Type: Size modification (make them larger or smaller)
- Wand Charge Cost: 20, 30, or 40 Charge depending on the desired size change
- Customization: Allows you to adjust these magical plants to fit your aesthetic preferences
Get Happy
The Get Happy spell is a powerful mood restoration spell that can be cast on yourself or another sim. This spell requires Creativity skill and costs 100 Wand Charge per cast attempt — making it the most expensive spell in terms of Wand Charge consumption.
Effects
When successfully cast, the Get Happy spell provides substantial need restoration:
- Restores approximately half a green bar to all needs simultaneously
- Can target yourself or any other sim on the lot
- Provides immediate relief from low need states
- Particularly useful in emergency situations or before important activities
Critical Warning: Failing to cast this spell will have the opposite effect, significantly dropping most of your needs instead of restoring them. Due to the high Wand Charge cost (100) and severe failure penalty, it is strongly recommended to achieve at least 16 Creativity skill for a 95% success rate, or ideally 20 skill for guaranteed success. Never cast Get Happy when your needs are already critically low, as a failed cast could be catastrophic.
Wand Charge
Wand Charge serves as the magical energy source required to cast all spells in XenoSO. Every spell consumes a specific amount of charge when cast, even if the spell fails. This consumption mechanic makes skill level crucial for cost efficiency, as failed casts represent pure resource loss.
Brewing Wand Charge
Wand Charge must be brewed like any other spell using the Spell Bound Wand Charger. Each brewing session produces 100 Wand Charge and requires the following ingredients:
- 1 Honey
- 1 Beeswax
- 1 Golden Thread
- 1 Butter
Like other spells, you can choose to brew a single batch (100 charge) or multiple batches (500 charge for 5x ingredients). Wand Charge does not spoil and can be stored indefinitely in your inventory.
Spell Cost Reference
Different spells consume varying amounts of Wand Charge per cast:
| Spell Name | Wand Charge Cost | Casts Per 100 Charge |
|---|---|---|
| Enchant Gnome | 25 | 4 casts |
| Enchant Flamingo | 25 | 4 casts |
| Transmutation | 25 | 4 casts |
| Get Happy | 100 | 1 cast |
| Summon Bonehilda | 100 | 1 cast |
| Infuse Magic (Small) | 20 | 5 casts |
| Infuse Magic (Medium) | 30 | 3 casts |
| Infuse Magic (Large) | 40 | 2 casts |
Cost Efficiency Strategy
To maximize the value of your Wand Charge investment:
- Train Skills First: Achieve 20 skill points in relevant categories to ensure 100% success rate and eliminate waste
- Brew in Bulk: Use the Brew Multiple option (x5) when you need large quantities of Wand Charge
- Prioritize Low-Cost Spells: Practice with 25-charge spells before attempting expensive 100-charge spells
- Calculate Break-Even: At 70% success rate (0-5 skill), expect to waste 30% of Wand Charge on failures
- Stock Up: Wand Charge doesn't spoil, so brew extra during ingredient abundance
